1. Outs 15, x2 = 30%, v bet $15 so we need 15x2 = $30 already $25 in so need $5 more
2. 4 outs x 2 = 8%, v bet $10 so need 10x9 = $90, already $20 in so need $70 more
3. 6 outs x 4 = 24% (BDSD?) v bet $8 so we need 3x8=24, already 18 in so need $6

1. villain has 16 combo's 78 and we have 68%
v has 12 of AT and we have 80%
so 0.68*16/28 + 0.8*12/28 so 73%
2. v 6 QQ we have 48%
v 6 KK we have 48%
v 3 55 we have 28%
v 3 44 we have 28%
so 0.48*12/18 + 0.28*6/18 so 41.3%
3. KT: 12 and we have 98%
TT: 3 and we have 4%
55: 3 and we have 4%
AdKd: 1 and we have 75%
so 0.98*12/19+0.04*6/19+0.75*1/19 = 67%
4. v AK: 16 we have 80% (he gets extra for dd combos)
v AT: 8 we have 6%
v 66: 3 we have 0%
v 78: 16 we have 80% ( he gets extra for 7d8d)
so 16/43 80%, 16/43 80%, 11/43 4% OR 3/4 80% 1/4 4% guess = 60+4 = 64%
Page 92
1. real = + $20
sklansky = our equity 0.9 x $25 - his equity 0.1 x 15$ = + $21
g-buck = our equity 0.71 x $25 - his equity 0.29 x $15 = + $13.40
2. real = - $15
sklansky = 0.43*20 - 0.57*10 = + $2.90
g-buck = our equity 0.43*20 - 0.57*10 = $2.90

1. we bluff 1/2 pot so we need folds 0.5/(0.5+1) = 33%
he folds 78 = 16 combos
he calls KJ(8), AJ(8), AT(12) = 28 combos
so he folds 16/(28+16) combos = 36%
so profitable!
2. we bluff pot so we need folds 1/(1+1) = 1/2 = 50%
he folds 78 = 12 combos
he calls JJ(6), QQ(6), KK(6), AA(6) = 24 combos
so he folds 12/(12+24) = 33%
so not profitable!
3. we bluff 2/3 se we need folds 0.67/(0.67+1) = 40%
he folds 99(6), 67(12), T9(12) = 30 combos
ha calls AT (12), KT (12), AQ(12) = 36 combos
so he folds 30/(30+36) = 45.5%
so profitable!
4.we bluff 1/3 so we need folds 0.33/(0.33+1) = 25%
he folds 89 = 12 combos
he calls JT(12), J9(12), KT(12) 33(3) = 39 combos
so he folds 12/(12+39) = 12/51 = 23.5%
so not profitable!
Page 106
1. We have SD equity of 8 outs x 2 = 16%, 16% of $50 is $8
So we are only risking $12 when we shove $20, in order to win $10
Breakeven is when 12/(12+10) = 0 so he must fold 54.5%
2. We have SD equity of 40% otf, 40% of $70 is $28
So we are only risking $2 when we shove $30 to win $10
BE is when 2/(2+10) = 0 so he must fold more than 16.7%
3. We have outs 3xA, 3xK, 1xBDFD = 7. Gives 28% SD equity. 0.28x$58 = $16.24
So we risk $24-$16.24 = $7.76 to win $10. BE is 7.76/(7.76+10) = 0.437 = 44%
4. He calls AJ(9) J9(12) 33(3) = 24 combos
He folds 98(12) 99(6) TT (6) = 24 combos
Our SD equity versus 33 is 8 outs x2 = 16%, 12 outs versus AJ = 24% and 16 outs v J9 = 32%
So J9 its 12/24x0.32=0.16, AJ its 9/24x0.24=0.09, 33 its 3/24x0.06=0.02
SD equity is 16+9+2 = 27% - WHEN CALLED!
So EV is %fold($10) + %call[0.27($35) + 0.73(-$25)]
EV = 0.5($10) + 0.5(9.45-18.25)
EV = $5 - $4.40 = $0.60
OTHER WAY… SD equity is 27% so we win 0.27x$60 when called = $16.20
So we are risking $25-$16.20 = $8.20 to win $10
So he need to fold 8.2/(8.2+10) = 45% of the time
He folds 50% of the time so PROFIT!!! (Just!)
Page 113
1. Combos we beat QT(8), AJ(12) = 20
Combos we lose to QJ(6), J9(9) = 15
EV = 20/35($20) + 15/35(-$20) = + $2.86
2. Combos he calls and we win QT(8), AJ(12) = 20
Combos he calls and we lose QJ(6), J9(9) = 15
Combos he raises and we fold 55(6) = 6
So, no, its not profitable as we lose 21 win 20
EV = 20/41($20) + 15/41(-$20) + 6/41(-$20) = -$0.49
3. Combos he calls and we win QT(8), AJ(12) = 20
Combos he calls and we lose QJ(6), Q7 (6) = 12
Combos he bluff raises and STEALS THE POT FROM US 33 = 6
EV = 20/38($20) + 12/38(-$20) + 6/38(-$40) = -$2.18
*** I got this one wrong, I worked out the EV of betting and included the pot of $20 in what we win, actually Owen wanted the EV of betting compared to checking so the original pot does not get counted. Also I did not account for the fact that villain actually steals the pot from us too when he bluff raises i.e if we check he does not do that ***
4. Villain calls $20 with A9(8) AT(8) AK (8) AQ (8) J9(4) JT(4) QJ(4) = 44 combos
villain calls $60 with AK(8) J9(4) JT(4) QJ(4) = 20 combos
For $20, EV = 1($20) = +$20
For $60, EV = 20/44($60) = +$27.27
So, $60 bet is more profitable.
5. Call $20 combos, A9(8) AT(8) AK(8) AQ(8) J9 (4) JT(4) QJ(4) = 44 combos
shove to $60, 78 = 16 combos AND WE CALL
call all in $60, AK(8), J9(4) JT(4) QJ(4) = 20 combos
So if we bet $20, 44 of 60 times he calls and we win $20
but also if we bet $20, 16 of 60 times he shoves and we win $60
So EV $20, 44/60($20) + 16/60($60) = +$30.67
Ev if we just shove $60 is 20/60($60) = + $20
So $20 bet is more profitable
Page 126
1. Slowplaying can mean we need to overbet rivers which alters our villains calling range
2. $5 pre goes, $15 otf, $45 ott, $135 otr
$7 pre goes, $21 otf, $63 ott, $189 otr
so difference is $54
3. SPR is 70:8 so 8.75 or 9 (remember the answer is still a "ratio")
4. Lower SPR's by betting bigger preflop or playing with a smaller stack
5. Multiple callers, other peoples stack size
Page 130
1. 12% of time (8:1)
2. Position, stacks behind, villains range strength, how good we are postflop
Page 137
1. This is exactly how we profit, we want villain to make EV- call with draws
2. Villain has 12 outs ott = 24%, if we bet 0.5pot so $10 he gets 3:1 = 25% so we need to bet a little larger. This assumes no imp odds.
3. Villain has 5 outs to beat us if we check so 10%, so giving away 0.1($20) = $2
4. If he NEVER folds FD then shove!
5. If his pair/draw combos that we beat outweigh his combination draw combos
6. Increase bet sizing to reduce implied odds
Page 145
1. He bet pot so we need 33%, he bluffs 30% so to exploit maximally we fold
2. Villain must be observant and capable of adjusting correctly
3. Table select better, play balanced, stay one step ahead of our opponent
4. We don't need it until higher stakes
5. At higher games versus tough opponents
